Good old Saint Nicholas, (seen here as a human torpedo) the blueprint for Santa Clause thanks to his generous nature, constant miracles, and habit of leaving coins in people’s shoes.

He was so devout that, even as a wee little babe, he refused his mother’s milk on Wednesdays and Fridays to honour the fast days.

He was a big name in the early days of the church, and was even present at the immensely important Council of Nicaea.
